 Wake in Fright (1971)
IMDB rating: 7.90
Plot: Wake in Fright is the story of John Grant, a bonded teacher who arrives in the rough outback mining town of Bundanyabba planning to stay overnight before catching the plane to Sydney. But his one night stretches to five and he plunges headlong toward his own destruction. When the alcohol-induced mist lifts, the educated John Grant is no more. Instead there is a self-loathing man in a desolate wasteland, dirty, red-eyed, sitting against a tree and looking at a rifle with one bullet left…

16 week old baby, teething and vomiting?
My 16 week old baby girl is teething. Her appetite is really up and down at the moment which I’ve read is common in teething babies, and so I offer water more frequently.
Today however (and also 1 day about 2 weeks back a similar thing happened), she has only had half the amount of formula she would consume in a day and during her last feed tonight drank half her bottle and about a minute later vomited a larger volume of milk than this half a bottle.
So, I have a few questions….
*Does teething cause babies to vomit?
*Why would the milk from her last feed still be in her stomach/why isn’t she digesting it?
*She doesn’t have a fever and no diarrhea, so can I rule out something else like Gastro?
*In future, if she shows little interest in milk on a given, is it OK to just persist with giving water?
*What is the best thing to do if a baby has a big vomit? Offer water?
She has had wet nappies today so she’s not dehydrated but after getting a bit of a fright from the vomit is sound asleep (nighttime here), should I wake her up every hour and offer water to replace the fluid she lost with the vomit and lack of feeding today?
If she is still a bit off tomorrow morning we will certainly be visiting the Dr!
i live in a tropical climate – it is extremely necessary to give a baby water here. she always spits up small amounts after a feed but these 2 occasions were much different, it was a really large volume of vomit….
oh and syzygy, aren’t any fluids better than no fluids?! think about it.
ask yourselves the question. if a baby is refusing milk, do you let it become dehydrated?????? no you wouldn’t. it’s cooled boiled water or an IV…. been to the hospital this morning and advised to continue on with the water. thank you for not answering my questions but giving silly advice.
my son vomited ALOT when he was a baby, we called a nurse and they recommended using pedialyte- seemed to work, follow the directions carefully and you have to use it within a few days i believe 72 hours or something like that
