I’m thirteen and in the eighth grade and I miss a LOT of school. I don’t skip, or ditch, or anything like that, but I’m sick a lot (we used to think it was epilepsy, but now all the doctors are like "We don’t know what it is, sorry") and now I’m failing nearly all my classes.
My absences have been increasingly more frequent, and it’s come to the point when, on the days I do make it to school, kids tell me, "But I thought you moved…"
I just got my mid-quarter progress report, and I only have one B and the rest are Cs or below.
My dad has high expectations for me, and was expecting "a few Bs here and there, but mostly As."
Now I’m floundering just to make it out of middle school.
I actually went through a week-long phase of surrender. I just did not care about my grade, about my future, about what my parents or my teachers or my friends thought. I simply did not care.
Now, I have three projects (I think. There might be more.) that need doing and were due on Halloween (it’s November Third). And I’m not even clear on the instructions for these projects.
I have a mountain of bookwork I don’t understand, and I’m sure there are plenty of worksheets I need to pick up.
And I just feel so incompetent, which has been particularly tough for me because I’m so used to being ‘the smart one’. Some of my many friendly nicknames are actually Nerd, "Hey you, girl with the book!" and, among my Harry Potter friends, The Ravenclaw.
So, not being in class and therefore not getting the work I’m getting thown is kind of not good. At all.
Does anyone know a way that could help me raise my grade?!
(I’m not excited about high school, but who’d be thrilled about flunking?)
Have you thought about asking your parents to organise you a tutor, ask them to go to the school and talk to your teachers and explain the problem they may be able to give you some idea’s, or ask a friend round to help you.

okay
take a deep breath , breathe
now drink a cup of cold Glass water. good?
here are ways to resolve this issuE:
1. do you have any one that’s dependent and reliable that’s willing to report what the teacher went over in class so that you can leran on your own?
2. whenever ur not sick: STAY AFTERSCHOOL for extra help. im sure your teachers are willing to help. also seek a couselor for further advice
3. bring your textbook home to study when ur absent
4. ask for extra credit stuff to pull up your grades.
u need to handle this now , cuz when ur in highschool, uh oh. im strugglin with it too.

Ask for a tutor. Most schools have tutoring in the morning before school starts. Try that. Tell your parents about the situation and ask them to talk to your counselors about the problem. Maybe they’ll have some ideas. They should, considering you were sick and not ditching or anything.
Hope I helped!
