Any book recommendations?
For the past few weeks, I’ve been so bored without a book to read besides what’s required for English class. So I need a new book to read.
I like action, sci-fi, fantasy, and romance genres.
Some books I liked: The Hunger Games, The Giver, The Twilight Series, 1984, Life As We Knew It.
Also please recommend books for teens, not an adult book, and please list a title and a brief synopsis about it.
Thanks in Advance.
Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card (best sci -fi)
Aliens have attacked Earth twice and almost destroyed the human species. To make sure humans win the next encounter, the world government has taken to breeding military geniuses — and then training them in the arts of war… The early training, not surprisingly, takes the form of ‘games’… Ender Wiggin is a genius among geniuses; he wins all the games… He is smart enough to know that time is running out. But is he smart enough to save the planet?
Her Majesty’s Wizard by Christopher Stasheff (fantasy, romance)
Matt read the forbidden runes and found himself in a world where reciting verses worked magic. He got himself locked in a dungeon, created a fire-breathing dragon, and eventually discovered a beautiful princess he swore to save. Little did he guess how hard that would be….
Old Magic by by Marianne Curley
When Jarrod Thornton walks into the classroom, Kate Warren instantly senses that he is as different as she is. In anger, he unknowingly unleashes a storm in the science lab and Kate realizes that he has exceptional paranormal abilities that exceed her own. As an uneasy friendship forms, she helps Jarrod confront and internalize his talents. With her grandmother’s help, the teens journey back to the Middle Ages and break the curse that has controlled the Thornton family for generations. On one level, this is a story about paranormal abilities, curses, and time travel. Deeper, it’s an account of feeling different, friendship, and acceptance. The story is much like a train ride. The plot is fast and smooth and the characters’ developing friendship is akin to the train’s slowing and coming to a station stop.

If you Liked the hunger games, you might like Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It might sound kind of stupid at first (it did to me) but give it a try! You might end up enjoying it. Also, you may like Sarah Dessen books. They have romance in them, but are about regular teens.
Hope this works!

I haven’t read Percy Jackson yet but I want to…I also heard it’s good. You should try the Golden Compass series (His Dark Materials) and Graceling. I don’t know if these would really appeal to you but I LOVED THEM: The Red Necklace and Inkheart were awesome. Good luck!

Definitely the Peter and the Starcatchers series. It’s the prequel books to Peter Pan. Absolutely amazing, and very entertaining!

Here’s some of my previous recommendations:
"I greatly enjoy New York Times Bestsellers.
Artemis Fowl Series, By Eoin Colfer
Alex Rider Series, By Anthony Horowitz
The Inheritance Trilogy, By Christopher Paolini
The Redwall Series, By Brian Jacques." RE: Good books?
"Artemis Fowl, The Lost Colony (Eoin Colfer
Alex Rider, Skeleton Key (Anthony Horowitz)
Eldest (Christopher Paolini)." RE: Some good books for summer reading?
"Books such as Tom Sawyer can provide a different aspect on writing and a bit of history too, which is helpful if you plan on a profession in writing.
A good page turner like Snakehead, which is the latest book available in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, can prove to be a fun and entertaining read.
If your needs fall more under the science fiction or fantasy genre I would suggest you gear towards the New York Times Bestsellers, such as Artemis Fowl or perhaps if you enjoy long books, try Eragon, Eldest, or Brisngr which are all written by Christopher Paolini each part of a series.
Farewell to Manazar seems to also be a good book, though I haven’t had time to read it yet. It’s about a Japanese girl who lived in the U.S. during WWII.
I hope this helps, if not try the link I provided, even if you don’t have the bookstore in your area the site will still provide a good search engine for books." RE: Good Books to Read?

For adventure, suspense and a little teen romance, try Dangerous Days and Blades, both by J. William Turner. Set mainly in Australia, but also some parts in England and California, these two, four part rites-of passage stories are about teens in hair-raising situations facing extreme weather, drug criminals, terrorists, wild dogs and forest fires.
